Dr. S. A. Hsu is currently the Professor Emeritus, Coastal Studies Institute and Department of Oceanography and Coastal Sciences, Louisiana State University, USA.He completed his Ph. D. from University of Texas, 1969. He has over 45 years of experience including the publication of the world-first textbook entitled \"Coastal Meteorology\" by Academic Press in 1988 and over 120 refereed articles in the field of the physics of air-sea-land interaction.He is the Certified Consulting Meteorologist for FleetWeather/CompuWeather, Firestone/Bridgestone, Round Table Group, Entergy, Preis & Roy, Louisiana State Office of Risk Management and others. Dr. Peter B. Roohr is a meteorologist managing the fire weather science and technology and Small Business Innovation Research programs within the Office of Science and Technology at Headquarters National Weather Service. He is also a subject matter expert in topics of lightning, winter weather and volcanic ash. He grew up in Alexandria VA and obtained a B.A. degree in Environmental Science at the University of Virginia (minor in Astronomy), and M.S. (1991) and PhD (1999) degrees in Atmospheric Science from Colorado State University. His thesis and dissertation concentrated on the incorporation of lightning data into nowcasting of phenomena such as intense bands of snow and ice. From 1986 to 2007 he was a U.S. Air Force officer managing major weather system program acquisition and technology transition, as well as directing the diverse operations and policy development of four major weather squadrons/divisions in Korea, within AF Materiel Command, at AF Weather Agency and at the Pentagon.

Dr. Smith is a Microbial Ecologist at USCA where he studies microbial interactions with marine organisms. He is on the Graduate faculty in the Dept. of Marine Medicine and Environmental Studies at MUSC and the College of the Environment at USC-Columbia. He maintains a laboratory at the Center for Hydrogen Research where he screens nitrogen-fixing bacteria for their potential to produce hydrogen in fuel cells. Smith also studies diseases of corals throughout the world and is the co-chair of the Coral Disease Working Group in the World Bank’s Targeted Coral Research Program. Smith has identified pathogens associated with diseases of scleractinian corals, gorgonians, echinoderms and sponges. Csilla Ari has completed her Ph.D. at the age of 29 years from Semmelweis University, Hungary. George Perry is dean of the College of Sciences and professor of biology at The University of Texas at San Antonio. Perry is recognized in the field of Alzheimers disease research particularly for his work on oxidative stress. Perry received his bachelor of arts degree in zoology with high honorsfrom University of California, Santa Barbara. After graduation, he headed to Scripps Institution of Oceanography and obtained his Ph.D. in marine biology in 1979. He then received a postdoctoral fellowship in the Department of Cell Biology at Baylor College of Medicine. In 1982, Perry joined the faculty of Case Western Reserve University until he moved to UTSA in 2006. He is distinguished as one of the top Alzheimers disease researchers with over 900 publications, one of the top 100 most-cited scientists in neuroscience and behavior and one of the top 25 scientists in free radical research. Perry has been cited over 40,000 times (H=101) and is recognized as an ISI Highly Cited researcher. Perry is editor for numerous journals and is editor-in-chief for the Journal of Alzheimers Disease. Research is primarily focused on the mechanism of formation and physiological consequences of the cytopathology of Alzheimer disease. He has played a key role in elucidating oxidative damage as the initial cytopathological abnormality in Alzheimer disease. He is currently working to determine the sequence of events leading to neuronal oxidative damage and the source of the increased oxygen radicals. His current studies focus on two issues: (i) the metabolic basis for the mitochondrial damage restricted to vulnerable neurons; and (ii) the consequences of RNA oxidation on protein synthesis rate and fidelity.

She was a professor of Fudan University (Shanghai, China) and now is the leading professor for “Research Center for Remote Sensing and Marine Ecology & Environment” (RSMEE) of South China Institute of Oceanology, Chinese Academy of Sciences. M. Ravindran was born on June 1, 1944. He received his Bachelor’s of engineering degree at PSG College of Technology, Coimbatore in 1966, Master’s of Technology in 1969, and Ph.D in 1978 in the area of turbo machines at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras. He had joined the faculty in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, IIT Madras in 1969 and was deputed to Technical University in Munich, Germany during 1972 – 74 for advance research in Hydraulic machinery. He moved during 1982 to the newly formed Ocean Engineering Centre to begin research and development on ocean energy conversion, in addition to giving lectures on Fluid machinery, Dredging and Deep-sea mining systems.
