Dr. Carol Motycka graduated from the University of Florida with her Pharm.D. in 1998. She then completed a residency in Ambulatory Care at Florida Hospital in Orlando. Following the residency, Dr. Motycka was hired as the Pharmaceutical Care Coordinator for Florida Hospital DeLand. Dr. Motycka became the Director of the Jacksonville Campus in July 2002 to help build the University of Florida College of Pharmacy program in Jacksonville. She was later appointed Assistant Dean of the Campus where she spends her time teaching, caring for patients, counseling, and administrating.

After completing his MD degree, Dr. Gustafsson was appointed Associate Professor of Chemistry at the Karolinska Institute in 1971, and was made full professor in 1976. In 1979, he was named Professor of Medical Nutrition and Chairman of the Department of Medical Nutrition at Huddinge University Hospital at the Karolinska Institute. In 1987, together with Dr. John Baxter (also at TMHRI), he founded Karo Bio, a campus-situated biotechnology company with approximately 80 employees, to develop and commercialize products to treat human diseases such as obesity, diabetes, metabolic syndrome, and breast cancer. He is a member of the U.S. National Academy of Sciences, has published more than 1,300 peer-reviewed journal articles, and has trained over 200 Ph.D. students, post doctoral fellows, and visiting scientists. He was appointed Director of The Center for Nuclear Receptors and Cell Signaling at the University of Houston, with a joint appointment at TMHRI, in 2009.

Dr. Noreddin received his Ph.D. in pharmaceutical Sciences from the University of the Pacific, California and received research training as a visiting scholar at the Department of Medicine, Stanford University. He had postdoctoral fellowship (Pharmacokinetics and Pharmacodynamics of Antimicrobials), Department of Medical Microbiology, University of Manitoba followed by an American College of Clinical Pharmacy postdoctoral fellowship (Infectious Diseases). Dr. Noreddin’s research interest includes Pharmacoklinetic/Pharmacodynamic modeling of anti-infective and anti-cancer therapy, clinical simulation and Monte Carlo analysis and bacterial resistance in biofilm studies. Dr. Noreddin has outstanding records of scientific and academic accomplishments with multiple research funding, numerous publications in highly prestigious journals and various presentations in both national and international conferences. He served as a scientific reviewer for the NIH as well as other national and international research institutions.

Amr Amin is a Professor of Cell & Molecular Biology and a graduate faculty at UAE University. He earned his PhD in Cell & Developmental Biology from University of Illinois at Chicago and received a postdoctoral training in Molecular Genetics at University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. After joining UAEU, Dr. Amin’s focus was redirected to the field of preventive medicine. His lab is interested in natural product-based protection against cancer. Most recently, his lab has been employing non-invasive approaches and nanoparticles to learn more about the molecular aspects of chemoprevention particularly against liver cancer. He published many research articles, reviews and book chapters in reputable journals. He also serves on the editorial boards and as a reviewer of many international journals. Dr. Amin is also the recipient of many national and international awards.

Mohamed Eddouks is Professor at Moulay Ismail University, Morocco. He is a Researcher in physiology and pharmacology with an M.S. degree in metabolic and molecular endocrinology from the University of Paris 6, France, a specialized certificate in endocrine pharmacology from the University of Paris 7, France, and PhD degrees in physiology and pharmacology from the University of Liege, Belgium, and Sidi Mohammed Ben Abdellah University, Fez, Morocco. After his postdoctoral fellowship at the Department of Physiology, Faculty of Medicine of Montreal, Canada, he is working for the last 14 years on medicinal plants. His research focuses on ethnobiological as well as pharmacological issues in the use of Moroccan medicinal plants for the treatment of diabetes mellitus, obesity, and hypertension. His contribution to this field includes three international books and more than 70 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters of international repute. He is member of the editorial boards of 14 international journals. He is also a member of panel of experts of several international journals. He has been the Dean of Polydisciplinary Faculty of Errachidia(2008-2012).

Frances first started working in anticoagulation in 2002 when she commenced a PhD which explored the redesign of anticoagulation services in different care settings. Over the years, Frances has delivered a variety of anticoagulation services in secondary and primary care. As part of her current role she provides leadership through promoting clinical governance as it pertains to anticoagulation. Frances is a member of the UKCPA Haemostasis Anticoagulation and Thrombosis committee and a board member of the multidisciplinary Anticoagulation in Practice Society, contributing to the educational and conference activities of both. Aside from anticoagulation, Frances has an interest in medicines adherence.

Dr. Irons has been with the School since 1999 and is an Associate Professor specializing in Ambulatory Care on the Lubbock Campus. Dr. Irons is Head of the Ambulatory Care Division within the Department of Pharmacy Practice mentoring fellow division members on all four of our campuses in their teaching, practice, scholarship, and service responsibilities. He is a past Director of the SOPs PGY2 Ambulatory Care Residency in Lubbock and a preceptor for the PGY1 and 2 residents on that campus. He has various teaching responsibilities in didactic lectures, case-based learning, and our experiential program. He is a past Team Leader for the Endocrinology Pharmacotherapy, Case Studies courses and for the Ambulatory Care Clinical Skills Clerkship. He received his BS and PharmD from the University of Wisconsin – Madison. He completed a Pharmacy Practice Residency at United Hospital in St. Paul, MN and an Ambulatory / Managed Care Residency with the Texas Tech School of Pharmacy. Dr. Irons is a board certified pharmacotherapy specialist, a board certified ambulatory care pharmacist, and is board certified in advanced diabetes management.

Dr. Irons’ primary areas of research interest are in diabetes management and the documentation of clinical pharmacy services in the Primary Care setting.

Dr. Zhou is presently a Professor, Associate Dean of International Research, and Chair of the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, College of Pharmacy, University of South Florida, Tampa, Florida. Professor Zhou completed his clinical training in China in 1989 and obtained his PhD in 2001 from the School of Medicine, the University of Auckland, New Zealand. Professor Zhou has published more than 330 peer-reviewed papers in various pharmacology and medical journals including New England Journal of Medicine, Cancer Research, Journal of Biological Chemistry, Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics, and Clinical Cancer Research. He has also published 16 books and book chapters and more than 200 conference abstracts. His work has been cited more than 4,500 times by other colleagues. He is involved in the development of more than 10 lead compounds. To date, he has trained 24 PhD students, 12 MSc/Honors students, and 14 postdoctoral staff. Dr. Zhou serves as an editor-in-chief or editor for Drug, Healthcare and Patient Safety, Drug Metabolism Letters, and Current Drug Metabolism and is the editorial board member of other 20 medical and pharmacological journals. Huixiao Hong received his PhD at Nanjing University China in 1990 and completed his postdoctoral fellowship at the Maxwell Institute at Leeds University in UK. He was an Associate Professor at Nanjing University from 1992 to 1995 where he investigated computerassisted molecular design From 1995 to1998 he worked at National Cancer Institute at National Institutes of Health as a Visiting Scientist. He discovered and designed more than 60 potent HIV integrase inhibitors and cyclooxygenase COX inhibitors. He also identified a mononucleotidebinding site in HIV integrase and elucidated the stereoselective binding mode of ibuprofen in COX1.
