He is president and founder of JBR Institute of Health Education research and Technology. He is also founder of the BR formula and BR Regression equation used in forensic technology. He is also Editor-in-Chief of four international journals and executive-deputy editor of Aeronautic dentistry. His current work concerns the effect of micro-gravity on oral cavity, human physiology & psychology, non invasive biomarkers. Rai published over 100 articles on subjects of aeronautic dentistry, micro-gravity, human factors, antioxidants, cancer markers, saliva, oral, systemic diseases and forensic dentistry. His biography has been published in Who in Health and Medicine, who in the world, USA. He is invited editor of Mars Quarterly. He is an invited reviewer of NRF, South Africa, reviewer of more than 10 different journals and has seven pending patents. He is principal investigator cum researcher of project simulated micro-gravity and human factors including oral cavity: Noninvasive biomarkers. He is working with different space medicine and dentistry related research projects. He has strong belief in leaving a mark in space programs and noninvasive technology. He is researcher and consultant of many companies. He was selected in Crew 78, MDRS as Health and Safety Officer and crew 100B as commander, emergency physician and biomedical scientist.

Yunhua Luo has received his Ph.D. in Computational Solid Mechanics at the Royal Institute of Technology, Sweden. Currently, he is working as Associate Professor in Department of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering at University of Manitoba. He is a member of editorial board in Advances in Theoretical and Applied Mechanics, HIKARI Ltd. He has attended 35 conferences and presented his papers. During 2006-2010, he was a member in Department Committee of Undergraduate Education Quality and during 2007-2008 he was a member in Department Curriculum Committee. Since 2010, he is a member in outreach committee and in undergraduate awards/thesis prize Committee.

Shaaban Abdallah, a Professor of Aerospace Engineering, has been at the University of Cincinnati since 1989. He obtained his Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering at the University of Cincinnati in 1980. Dr. Abdallah joined Penn State University from 1981 to 1988. His research interests include computational fluid dynamics, nanofluids, turbo-machines, unmanned Aerial vehicles and medical devices. Dr. Abdallah has two US patents on centrifugal compressors and three disclosures with University of Cincinnati on medical devices.

Richard W. Longman, received his Ph.D. from University of California, San Diego, 1969. He specializes in dynamics and control including learning, repetitive, and optimal control theory and applications. Other areas of interest include system identification, robotics in space, and satellite altitude and shape control.

Youmin Zhang is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering and the Concordia Institute of Aerospace Design and Innovation (CIADI) at Concordia University, Canada. His main research interests and experience are in the areas of condition monitoring, fault diagnosis and fault-tolerant (flight) control systems; cooperative guidance, navigation and control of unmanned aerial/ground vehicles; dynamic systems modeling, estimation, identification and control; and advanced signal processing techniques for diagnosis, prognosis and health management of safety-critical systems and manufacturing processes. He has published 4 books and over 200 journal and conference papers. He is a senior member of AIAA, senior member of IEEE, a member of the IFAC Technical Committee on Fault Detection, Supervision and Safety for Technical Processes, and a member of the AIAA Infotech@Aerospace Program Committee (PC) on Unmanned Systems. He is an editorial board member of several international journals and IPC member of many international conferences.

David C. Hyland, currently Royce E. Wisenbaker Chair of Engineering, Professor of Aerospace Engineering, Adjunct Professor of Physics, has been at Texas A&M University for 9 years. At the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Hyland was awarded the S. B. degree in Aeronautics and Astronautics in 1969 and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees, also in Aeronautics and Astronautics in 1971 and 1973, respectively. From September 1969 through July 1983, Hyland served at the MIT Lincoln Laboratory, first was as Research Associate (until ’73), then as staff member. Beginning in August 1983, Hyland organized and subsequently led the Structural Control Group within the Government Aerospace Systems Division of Harris Corporation. He has served as Principal Investigator and Chief Scientist for numerous research programs for NASA and AFOSR. In February 1992, Dr. Hyland was promoted to Senior Scientist and assigned to the Senior Staff of the Vice President of Engineering of the Aerospace Systems Division Hyland joined the faculty of the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, on May 1, 1996 and served as Full Professor with tenure and Chairman of the Aerospace Engineering Department until September 1, 2003. He joined Texas A&M University in 2003 as Associate Vice Chancellor of Engineering, Associate Dean of the Dwight Look College of Engineering, holder of the Wisenbaker Chair of Engineering, Professor of Aerospace Engineering in the College of Engineering and Professor of Physics in the College of Science. For the last seven years, Hyland accepted appointment as Director of Space Science and Space Engineering Research along with the current positions named above. Hyland’s current interests include adaptive control for space vehicles, formation flying control algorithms for optimal image quality

Elzbieta Jarzebowska is currently a Professor at the Institute of Aeronautics and Applied Mechanics at the Power and Aeronautical Engineering Department, Warsaw University of Technology, Warsaw, Poland. She received the B.S., M.S., Ph.D., and D.Sc. degrees in mechanical engineering, control and mechanics of constrained systems, from the Warsaw University of Technology. Her fields of research expertise and teaching includes dynamics modeling and analysis of multibody systems, nonlinear control of multibody systems including nonholonomic, underactuated, UAV, and mobile robotic systems, and geometric control theory. Prof. Jarzębowska was involved in research projects for Automotive Research Centre and Engineering Research Centre for Reconfigurable Machining Systems at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, MI. Also, she gained valuable experience after she worked for Ford Motor Company Research Laboratories, Dearborn, MI. She is the author and coauthor of five handbooks and a monograph in mechanics and control, and more than 100 publications. She is a member of ASME, IEEE, GAMM, IFToMM Technical Committee of Mechatronics, and International Society for Advanced Research–Italy based society and a scientific publisher. Her hobbies are psychology, swimming, yachting, and travelling.

Gangbing Song is the founding Director of the Smart Materials and Structures Laboratory and a Professor of both Mechanical Engineering and Electrical & Computer Engineering at the University of Houston. He is a recipient of the NSF CAREER grant in 2001. He received his Ph.D. and M.S. degrees from the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Columbia University in the City of New York in 1995 and 1991, respectively. He received his B.S. degree in 1989 from Zhejiang University, P.R.China. He has expertise in smart materials and structures, structural vibration control, and structural health monitoring and damage detection. He has developed two new courses in smart materials and published more than 300 papers, including 96 peer reviewed journal articles (H-factor: 19). He is also an inventor or co-inventor of 4 US patents and 6 pending patents. He has received research funding in smart materials and related research from NSF, DoE, NASA, Department of Education, Department of Energy, Texas Higher Education Board, TSGC (Texas Space Grant Consortium), UTMB (University of Texas Medical Branch), Texas Heart Institute, OSGC (Ohio Space Grant Consortium), OAI (Ohio Aerospace Institute), ODoT (Ohio Department of Transportation), HP, GE, OptiSolar, and Cameron.

Sondipon Adhikari is the chair of Aerospace Engineering in the College of Engineering of Swansea University. Currently, he is a Wolfson Research Merit Award holder from the Royal Society. He received his Ph.D. in 2001 from the University of Cambridge (in Trinity College). He was an Engineering and Physical Science Research Council (EPSRC) Advanced Research Fellow and winner of the Philip Leverhulme Prize (2007). He was a lecturer at the Bristol University and a Junior Research Fellow in Fitzwilliam College, Cambridge. He was a visiting Professor at the Carleton University, University of Johannesburg and a visiting scientist at the Los Alamos National Laboratory. His research areas are multidisciplinary in nature and includes uncertainty quantification in dynamic systems, computational bio & nanomechanics (nanotubes, graphene, nano-bio sensors), dynamics of complex systems, inverse problems for linear and non-linear dynamics and vibration energy harvesting. He has published more than 170 international journal papers and 100 conference papers in these areas.

Fred F. Afagh joined Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (MAE) at Carleton University in Sept. 1987 where he have been involved in teaching and research for the last 25 years. At Carleton University, he have served in different capacities such as the Associate Chair for Graduate Studies in the Department of MAE, Director of Ottawa-Carleton Institute for Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering and Associate Dean for Research in the Faculty of Engineering and Design. His main research contributions have been in the areas of stability of non-conservative systems, structural dynamics and control and structural mechanics. Both my professional and academic carriers span close to 40 years of service as a consultant to industry and as a teacher and researcher in academia in United States, Canada, Europe and the Middle East.

Kimberly Turner's interests involve many areas of microsystems, especially dynamics and characterization, and applications utilizing interesting dynamics. In 1994 she earned her B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Michigan Technological University. She received her Ph.D. (1999) in Theoretical and Applied Mechanics from Cornell University, where she did primarily MEMS-based work. She joined the department of Mechanical & Environmental Engineering at UCSB in August 1999, where she is continuing her research in the areas of MEMS and nanosystems. Her research group consists of 6 Ph.D. students, 3 undergraduate researchers and a postdoc. She has written over 80 peer-reviewed articles. She is a member of many professional societies, and is the recipient of an NSF CAREER award, the UCSB Academic Senate Distinguished Teaching Award, the MTU Outstanding Young Alumni Award, a member of the Michigan Technological University Presidential Alumnae Council, and is General Chair for the 2010 America's Workshop on Solid-State Sensors & Actuators. Turner leads a balanced life, and her hobbies include dog showing and bicycle riding/racing. She is the 2009 Cat 3 CA State Criterion Champion.

John Yates joined the University of Manchester in August 2010 as Professor of Computational Mechanics and Director of the Centre for Modelling and Simulation. John is a Chartered Engineer and Fellow of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers. He is also a Higher Education Academy National Teaching Fellow and Chair of the Editors of the international journal, Fatigue and Fracture of Engineering Materials and Structures. John studied at Cambridge, Cranfield and the University of Sheffield where he gained his PhD. He joined the academic staff in Sheffield in 1984, became a Professor in 2000 and from 2004 to 2008, he was Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering. John has published over 200 archived articles, which includes more than 80 international peer reviewed journal papers.

Guillermo Araya is a Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Texas Tech University. After completing his Ph.D. degree in Aeronautical Engineering in August 2008 from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (Troy, New York, US), he joined the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Johns Hopkins University (Baltimore, Maryland, US) as a Postdoctoral Fellow under the supervision of Prof. Charles Meneveau. He has been a Research Assistant at Swansea University (UK) from 2009 to 2011. His research interests include computational fluid dynamics of turbulent incompressible and compressible flows, wind energy array modeling, DNS, LES, RANS, URANS, turbulence modeling, heat transfer and flow control.

Nan Wu received his Ph.D. degree from the Department of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering at University of Manitoba in 2012. From 2006 to 2008, he worked as a research assistant and lab technologist in the field of the vibration test, fault diagnoses and vibration control of vehicle and aero-engine rotor system. Currently, he is working as a research assistant in Department of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering at University of Manitoba. His main research interests are in the area of the application of smart materials to the advanced engineering structures and nano-technology. Dr. Wu is a member of the editorial board in ‘British Journal of Applied Science and Technology’ and ‘Journal of Aeronautics and Aerospace Engineering’. He also serves as a reviewer for other 10 international journals.

Jian-Guo Wang has been a faculty member in Department of Earth and Space Science Engineering of York University in Toronto, Canada since 2006. He is also member of Professional Engineers Ontario of Canada. He worked as Senior Navigation Engineer at Applanix Corp. from 1999 to 2006. Prior to this, he obtained his Bachelor’s Degree and Master’s Degree in Surveying Engineering from Wuhan Technical University of Surveying and Mapping, and his Dr.-Ing. in Geomatics from University of The Federal Armed Forces Munich, Germany. With more than 20 years of academic and industrial experience in China, Germany and Canada, his current research interests focus on multisensor integrated positioning and navigation technology, high precision and high accuracy positioning methodology and advanced data processing algorithms.

Yu-Lung Lo received his B.S. degree from National Cheng Kung University (NCKU), Tainan, Taiwan, in 1985, and his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Mechanical Engineering from the Smart Materials and Structures Research Center, University of Maryland, College Park, USA in 1992 and 1995, respectively. After graduation, he joined the Opto-Electronics and Systems Laboratories of the Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI), working on fiber optic smart structures and fiber communications. He has been a member of the Mechanical Engineering Department, NCKU, since 1996, where he is now a full professor and distinguished Professor in NCKU. Also, he is an affiliate professor in Institute of Nanotechnology and Microsystem Engineering. Lo received the First-Class Research Award by National Science Council (NSC) in Taiwan, 2005-2006 and Dr. Wu, Ta-You Memorial Award for Young Researchers by NSC in Taiwan, 2002. Dr. Lo is included in Who’s Who in the World and Who’s Who in Science and Engineering. He was Chair in technical division of optical methods in Society of Experimental Mechanics (SEM) in USA, 2008. Currently, he is Steering Committee in Society of Asian Committee for Experimental Mechanics (ACEM). Dr. Lo is now Director of Instrument Development Center and NSC Instrument Center at NCKU. His research interests lie in the areas of fiber-optic sensors, passive components in optical fiber communications, experimental mechanics, optical techniques in precision measurements on LCD panels, and MOEMS. He has authored over 90 journal publications and has filed several patents. Most papers are published in IEEE, OSA, SPIE, SEM and etc.
