S. Ayyappan had his earlier education at College of Fisheries Mangalore for his B.F.Sc (1975) and M.F.Sc (1977) degree and obtained Ph.D degree from Bangalore University in 1988. His specific areas of research are Fisheries, Freshwater Aquaculture and Aquatic Microbiology. Prior to his present assignment as the Secretary, DARE & Director General, ICAR, served as the Deputy Director General (Fisheries) during 2002-09, Director, CIFE (Deemed University) during 2000-2002, Director, CIFA, Bhubaneswar during 1996-2000, Scientist, Central Inland Fisheries Research Institute, Barrackpore, 1978-84 as Principal Scientist, 1984-95, in the ICAR system. He is the Founder Chief Executive of the National Fisheries Development Board. He has made significant contributions to administration and research management of the National Agricultural Research System. Dr. Ayyappan has over 200 publications in reputed journals/proceedings and books. He also has two patents and one design in his name, and has won several awards. His contributions to the International Governance in Agriculture is also duly recognized.

Dr. Shakeel Ahmed presently Chief Scientist at CSIR-NGRI is basically a Geophysicist from BHU, Varanasi obtained PhD in Hydrogeology from Paris School of Mines, France. He is also heading an International centre as Indo-French Centre for Groundwater Research at Hyderabad. He has executed a number of research projects mostly international and has to his credit about 100 SCI publications with a highest citations among the scientists of CSIR-NGRI during last five years. He has supervised more than 30 students for their Doctoral research including foreign students; out of which 13 got the PhD degrees awarded. He has bagged many national and international awards.

Toprak had PhD from ITU in 2004. He brought two methods and three concepts into literature. He organized and/or placed in the list of scientific and organizing committees of numerous international scientific meetings. He has been serving as an editorial board member of five journals and as reviewer for more than 30 journals indexed by SCI. He had worked as vice-chair of Civil Engineering Department. He is a member of IMO, BUSIDE, DU-NHRAC, BUMAT, ÅžAD, MMG, and ASCE (during PhD studies). He rewarded three times by. Currently, he is working at Civil Engineering Department of Dicle University. He plays chess, writes poetry in Kurdish and Turkish.

Ali Khan studied at Imperial College and Southampton University, England. He performed research at Northwestern University, USA. He is an expert on flood control at highways and bridges and has designed many important bridges to resist floods. He is the author of several textbooks with McGraw-Hill and Elsevier Science and many technical papers in journals. As founder chairman of ASCE structural engineering institutePhiladelphia, his chapter received best U.S. Chapter award.In the Hydrology 2013 Raleigh Conference, he chaired the second day session and presented a paper on flood scour analysis.
