He is the Director of the Chicago Institute of Minimally Invasive Surgery; Director of the Laparoscopic and Bariatric Fellowship Program at St. Francis Hospital and visiting professor of surgery at University of Illinois in Chicago. He is recognized worldwide as an expert in the field of laparoscopic surgery and is a charter member of the United States Laparoscopic Founders Society. He was also named Americas Top Doctor by the acclaimed Castle Connolly Medical Guide for 5 consecutive years (2009-2014). In addition He was named Top Doctor by the Chicago Magazine (2012-2014), and the US News and World Report for 2011 -2013. In addition He was Professor of Surgery at Northwestern University from 2004-2009. He was given the Certificate of Excellence by US News & World Report 2012 & 2013. He was the first surgeon to define and publish the importance of preserving the Vagus nerve during a gastric bypass for avoidance of the dumping syndrome (Obesity Surgery 2011). He is credited with inventing two surgical instruments used in laparoscopic surgery. He is a member of numerous professional societies and has been the recipient of several awards and honors as well as grants from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and from the surgical industry. He has made more than 200 contributions to the medical literature and has written three books on laparoscopic surgery. He was the first in the world to introduce and perform 14 different laparoscopic procedures. He performed the fist in the world prospective randomized trial of laparoscopic mesh repair of large hiatal hernias (Archives of Surgery 2002) and he introduced “The Frantzides Technique” for the treatment of esophageal high grade dysplasia and Barrett’s esophagus (American Journal of Surgery 2010). He developed a new safer technique for the laparoscopic gastric bypass (Triple Stapling Technique Archives of Surgery, 2003).

Alex Bekker is Professor and Chairman of Anesthesiology at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School. He obtained his Doctoral Degree in Engineering from the New Jersey Institute of Technology and received his Medical Degree from the Rutgers – New Jersey Medical School. He completed his anesthesia training at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center in New York. Dr Bekker has joined the Department of Anesthesiology at the NYU Medical Center in1995 and was appointed a Vice-Chair for Research in 2005. Dr Bekker is internationally recognized expert in neuroanesthesia and is frequently invited to speak at Grand Rounds and Scientific Panels. Dr. Bekker has been active in research and for many years. He is an author of 65 peer reviewed publications, 6 US patents, 33 educational reviews and more than 100 abstracts. His work has focused on perioperative brain protection, neuroinflammation, postoperative pain control and clinical pharmacology. Dr Bekker was a PI of numerous clinical trials, including studies sponsored by the National Institute of Aging. He serves on the editorial board of the Journal of Neurosurgical Anesthesiology and is ad hoc reviewer for 15 peer-reviewed journals, including NEJM, Anesthesiology, Neurosurgery, PLoS One, and Anesthesia and Analgesia.

Professor Ziad Al-Naieb has completed his MB.ChB at the age of 24 years from College of medicine at University of Baghdad and postdoctoral studies from Johannes Gutenberg, Mainz Germany MD at urology clinic and Poly-Clinic Mainz Germany and Finished his PhD at the university of Mainz Germany and then completed his Fellowship of the Royal college of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow, United Kingdom. He became full professor in urology in 1994. Currently He is the Vice Dean for clinical affairs and Chairman of Surgery at the Arabian Gulf University since 2008 director of Urology Clinics at King Abdulla medical Center and Consultant urologist at Royal Bahrain and Bahrain Specialist Hospital in the Kingdom of Bahrain. He has published more than 33 papers in reputed journals and serving as an editorial board in many national and international medical journals including our reputed journal. His main researches are directed to Stem cell therapy in urology, early detection of Bladder malignancies and photodynamic therapy of Bladder Cancers.

Michael W. Lew, M.D., a native of Southern California, attended Columbia University in New York prior to graduating magna cum laude from the University of Southern California in 1986. While at USC, he was elected to be a member of Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society. Dr. Lew continued his postgraduate training and received his medical degree from the University of Southern California, Keck School of Medicine in 1990. Dr. Lew completed a residency at the University of Southern California, Keck School of Medicine, Department of Anesthesiology of which during his last year he was a chief resident. In 1994, he joined the Department of Anesthesiology at City of Hope. In 1995, Dr. Lew became certified as a Diplomat of the American Board of Anesthesiology. Dr. Lew served as the acting chair for the Department of Anesthesiology in 2001 for one and a half years before being chosen to be the chair of the Department of Anesthesiology in 2002. Dr. Lew’s research interest focuses around the anesthetic implications of minimally invasive surgery, patient outcomes after surgery, and the use of noninvasive technology in the perioperative period. Dr. Lew is an active alumnus of the University of Southern California where he served on the Board of Governors for the Alumni Association and has a scholarship that bears his name.

Yaacov Gozal, M.D is an Associate Professor of Anesthesiology at the Hebrew University, Jerusalem. He is the Chair of the Department of Anesthesiology, Perioperative Medicine and Pain Treatment and director of the operating rooms at Shaare Zedek Medical Center, Jerusalem, Israel. He has published more than 100 peer reviewed papers and serves as an editorial board member of the Journal of Pharmacology and Toxicology.

Dr. Farnad Imani is an associate professor with eighteen years' experience in academic postgraduate teaching in anesthesiology and pain medicine. He is chairman of department of anesthesiology and pain medicine in Iran University of Medical Sciences (IUMS). He is founder of academic pain fellowship in Iran at 2006, and established the pain ward and interventional pain operation room in Rasoul Akram Medical Center at the first time in Iran. Dr. Imani has passed a course of interventional pain procedures in Texas Tech University, USA, in 2008, and is a Fellowship of the Interventional Pain Practice (FIPP) and secretory of World Institute of Pain (WIP), Iran section. Dr Imani is pioneer of some Interventional Pain Procedures, such as percutaneous spinal fusion (pedicular screw & rod implantation), disc decompression, kyphoplasty, epiduroscopy in Iran. He has conducted several workshops on interventional pain procedures, and invited speaker for several International congresses. Dr Imani is founder, chairman and editor in chief of Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine, which is the official Journal of ISRAPM. The journal welcomes all kinds of manuscripts which relevant to anesthesiology and pain Medicine field. He is the author of several books in the fields of anesthesiology and pain medicine, and his first comprehensive pain textbook in Persian language was published in 2013. Petr Stadler graduated from the Charles University, Prague Medical School in Pilsen, Czech Republic in 1989. He performed his Internship and Residency in General and Vascular Surgery at the District Hospital in Jicin, Czech Republic. Stadler obtained his certification of general surgery in 1992 and vascular surgery in 1996. Upon completion of his certifications, he relocated to Na Homolce Hospital in Prague. He was certified as a console surgeon for the da Vinci surgical system in an off-site training program conducted in August, 2005 at the University of California, Irvine. His surgical interests include: vascular, laparoscopic vascular and robot-assisted vascular surgery. He is a member of the Czech Association of Cardiovascular Surgery, the European Society for Vascular Surgery, a founding member of the International Endovascular and Laparoscopic Society and honorary member the Polish Robotic Society. He has also received a few prestigious honors from the Czech Association of Cardiovascular Surgery for the best publications in 2004 and 2006, the Letter of Appreciation from Korean Society of Endoscopic and Laparoscopic Surgeons in May 2008, the price of the Czech Society of Angiology for the publication in the year 2007, the best audiovisual presentation during the 12th Annual Meeting on Minimally Invasive Cardiothoracic Surgery in 2009, USA and the International Award of SCVS in 2013, USA. He also performed the robot-assisted vascular operation in South Korea, Russia, Poland and India.

Gayane Badalian-Very, being one of the leading physicians of the world is a general surgeon at Dana Farber Cancer Institute. She has completed her practice at Harvard Medical School and worked for Brigham and women's Hospital. She has a grant awarded in 2011 for A BRAF V600E-Drive Mouse Model of Langerhans Cell Histiocytosis with the award of $50,000. She has also received Claudia Adam Barr Award in February 2012.

Qiao Li is a member of the Tumor Immunology Program of the Comprehensive Cancer Center at the University of Michigan. His research to develop innovative cancer treatment approaches through adoptive immunotherapy is clinically relevant. A novel protocol based on Dr. Li's effort utilizing activated T cells is funded by NIH and is now being used in a clinical trial to treat renal cell cancers at the University of Michigan Medical Center.

Bonnie Molloy is a Quality/Risk Manager and a nurse anesthetist, working at both St. Vincent's and Bridgeport Hospitals. She earned her PhD from the University of Connecticut-Storrs. She presently is the Chief Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) in the Bridgeport Anesthesia Associates practice at Bridgeport Hospital as well as a clinical faculty member for the Fairfield University Doctor of Nursing Practice Program. Bonnie has received the Discovery of Distinction Award for her research in Postoperative Visual Loss (POVL) and Intraocular Pressure (IOP) Monitoring. She has published in the American Journal of Nurse Anesthesia.

Anupama N. Wadhwa has completed Medical schooling from B.J. Medical College, India in 1990 and fellowship in Anesthesia from Monash University, Victoria. She is working as Associate Professor and also as Director of Residency Curriculum in the Department of Anesthesiology at the University Of Louisville School Of Medicine.

Doctor KoseoÄŸlu was born in Malatya,raised in Ä°stanbul, Turkey, graduating from the Istanbul Universityi Faculty of Dentistry in 1989. She then completed a dental international exchange programme in England. In 1990, Doctor Koseoglu joined the Istanbul University, Faculty of Dentistry in Ä°stanbul, where today she is still Professor of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery from 2006.
